| The recipe for Matsos Greek
Dressing is over 100 years old. This delicious formula of olive oil,
red wine vinegar and spices was developed by Spiro's grandfather who
ran a small restaurant in Athens, Greece. Spiro began making dressing
for his own restaurant first in New Haven, Connecticut and then in
1981 at Matsos Family Restaurant in Wooster, Ohio. The dressing became
so popular that restaurant guests would ask for the dressing to take
home in paper cups. Finally in May, 2003, a small factory was completed
in the basement of the restaurant and the Matsos family began selling
the dressing both in the restaurant and to local stores. Distributors
are now selling the dressing throughout the Midwest. |
